Our past research projects.

Cold Plasma

Plasma is the fourth state of matter, that is, an ionized gas into which sufficient energy is provided to free electrons from atoms or molecules and to allow species, ions and electrons to coexist. Generally, plasma is electrically neutral. The plasma ionization degree is the proportion of atoms that have lost (or gained) electrons. It is estimated that 99% of the matter in the known universe is in the plasma estate.

Geothermal energy

Geothermal Energy is the natural heat that is contained in the rock and fluids beneath the earth’s crust. Geothermal is a simple and reliable source of energy and can be utilised in a sustainable manner.

Corrosion and material services

Our Corrosion and materials consultancy team have more than 20 years of experience in materials and corrosion protection for onshore, offshore and subsea facilities.

Our services include material selection, performance assessments, corrosion monitoring & failure investigation.

CFD

Computational fluid dynamics is a branch of fluid mechanics to analyse fluid flow and thermal engineering problems numerically. Nowadays, engineers and researchers instead of performing lots of experiment to find and improve the performance of a system or making a complex geometry for testing, have performed CFD simulations to save time in the design process cheaper and faster. CFD modelling is used in different industries including Aerospace, Automotive, Building, Chemical, Energy systems, Power Generation, Manufacturing, water, oil and gas, Product Design and Optimization, Turbo Machinery, etc.

Energy storage and transfer

With the increase of energy consumption and as a result production of higher pollutants and CO2emissions, improving the energy efficiency and applying new methods to reduce the energy consumption is vital. The final energy consumption increased by 1.6% in 2016 which is equal to 2,167 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent. The majority of the increase is related to gas which increased by 3.2%. Among different sectors, the biggest increase belongs to the domestic sector which is 3.1% in 2016.

Microwave technology

Microwave refer to the electromagnetic rays with frequencies between 300 MHZ and 300 GHz in the spectrum. Belmore Technology is working on a multi-application Microwave Advanced Thermal Processor (MATP). One of the main applications of microwave technology is the elimination of different kinds of plastic waste in order to convert them into useful materials which is focused at Belmore Technology.
